Call for Participants: Grade 6 Spanish Math Focus Group (Texas Educators)

Educational Support Services is currently seeking Texas-based math teachers and education professionals to participate in an upcoming virtual focus group reviewing Grade 6 Spanish mathematics instructional materials.

This focus group is designed to gather early-development feedback on instructional quality, usability, and classroom alignment. Participant insights will directly inform improvements to Spanish math materials intended for Texas learners.

Who Should Apply?

We welcome participation from a range of math education professionals, including:

  • Current or former Texas math teachers
  • Educators with Grade 6 teaching experience (preferred, but not required)
  • Educators with Bluebonnet Math experience (highly preferred)
  • Rural educators and professionals serving rural communities (strongly encouraged)
  • Instructional coaches, math specialists, and curriculum leaders with relevant experience

You do not need to be currently teaching Grade 6, but familiarity with middle school math instruction and Spanish-language materials is important.

Focus Group Details

  • Format: Virtual
  • Length: 90 minutes
  • Timing: Outside of school hours
  • Anticipated Dates: Between February 7–11
  • Stipend: $150

Participation Requirements

  • Pre-Work:
    Participants will receive access to the assigned Grade 6 Spanish math module prior to the session. Please plan for approximately 2 hours of independent review.
  • Post-Work:
    A brief exit survey completed at the end of the focus group session.
